Former RiverDog B.J.Upton of the Tampa Bay organization and most recently the AAA International League's Durham Bulls, was named the top player in affiliated minor league baseball by Minor League News in its annual MLN Fab50 Baseball 2004 survey of the best and brightest stars in the minor leagues. Five current players, including top ten pick Delmon Young [10] and 2003 MLN SAL Player of the Year Jeff Salazar and other former SAL alumni also made the list.
