Carolina Mudcats Pickup Chouinard
Right-handed pitcher, Bobby Chouinard has been added to the roster.
Zebulon, NC - The Colorado Rockies have announced the newest arrival to their
AA farm team, RHP Bobby Chouinard. He will be playing for the Carolina Mudcats
while they are reassigning the contract of Brian Bentley to their extended
spring training complex in Tucson, AZ.
Appearing in a team-high 17 games, Brantley compiled a record of 2-3 with
an ERA of 4.56. The 2002 season represented his third tour with the Mudcats
since 2000.
Monday in Jacksonville Chouinard will join the club.
Thirty years old, he spent most of last season with Triple-A Colorado Springs going 3-1 with one save and an ERA of 3.66. He spent the first six weeks of this season in extended spring training.
Pitching in the majors from 1996-2001, Chouinard broke in with the Oakland
Athletics and also pitched with Milwaukee, Arizona, and spent two seasons
with Colorado. He has a career record of 11-8 with a 4.57 ERA in 111 games.
In eight games with the Rockies last season, Chouinard was 0-0 with an 8.22
ERA.
The moves put the Mudcats at the 23-man roster limit.
