Looking To The 'Futures'
Mudcats Young and Cook Invited to Game at Miller Park

Pitchers Aaron Cook and Jason Young, former Carolina Mudcats, have been named to the Futures Games roster for July 7th game at Miller Park in Milwaukee, WI.

Combined for 14 victories in Carolina's first-half divisional title run, Young and Cook have both been promoted to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Cook, who was elected to play in the All-Star game, was promoted last Friday. While Young appeared in the Southern League all-star game and was promoted afterwards.

In its fourth year, the Futures Game features most of the top 50 prospects in baseball. The game is comprised of two 25-man rosters are filled by 25 U.S. players and 25 foreign (World Team) players. The two organizations will be represented by at least one player each.

The game will be played at part of the Major League All-Star game celebration.

This will be Cook's first appearance in the Futures Game, while Young appeared in last year's game.

The pair will join current Southern League pitchers Brett Evert, Greenville, Jake Peavy, Mobile, and Ricardo Rodriguez, Jacksonville.
