New
Starting Time For The Travelers
The
Travs announce their 2002 schedule and a new start up time for home games.
The
Texas League's Arkansas Travelers have announced their 2002 schedule.
Beginning the season with a ten-day road trip April 4th. Opening
Day at Ray Winder Field is set for April 14th, where they will
be hosting their division rivals, the Wichita Wranglers followed by a
four-game stretch against the Drillers from Tulsa.
Ray
Winder Field will see 24 Friday/Saturday games including four Saturday
doubleheaders, which are scheduled for June 29 vs. Round Rock, July 6
vs. Tulsa, July 13 vs. Shreveport, and July 27 vs. Wichita.
Sunday
games are back by popular demand. The Travs will feature six Sunday games
including the home opener. Two weekday morning games, designed for area
school trips to Ray Winder Field, will also be played.
Of
interest to fans is that after a poll taken by the team on their website
during last season, start up for home games will begin at 7:10 p.m. whereas
last years games began at 7:30 p.m. Voted as one of the most popular start
up times, this will give Arkansas fans a chance to get home earlier without
missing the end an exciting Travelers ballgame.
