Jeff
Guiel has left the Stingers for Arkansas.
Outfielder
has joined the Travs from the Salt Lake Stingers. Guiel, a member of the
2001 Texas League Champion Travelers, had been playing for the Stingers
since the 2001 Texas League All-Star Break.
Batting
.259, 10 HR, 38 RBI’s in 78 games in Salt Lake, he played mostly
in right field, but saw action at all three outfield positions: first
base, third base, catcher, and designated hitter.
He
is joining the Travs where he hit .313, 13 HR, and 56 RBI’s in 55
games in the first half of the 2001 season.
Jeff
Guiel is replacing RHP Phil Wilson on the Traveler’s active roster.
Wilson was placed on the disabled list with a sore elbow.
