Dave
Miley - MANAGER
In 2001, Miley led Louisville to a franchise-best 84-60 record en route to
the International League Governors' Cup Title. Miley, who captured his 1000th
win as a manager earlier this season, has spent his entire career in the Cincinnati
Reds organization. After seven years as a Minor League catcher, Miley began
managing in 1988 and broke into Triple-A in 1992 as skipper of the Nashville
Sounds of the American Association. In 1996, Miley piloted the Indianapolis
Indians to the first of two second place finishes, and capped off 1997 by
winning the American Association's final Manager of the Year award. After
two more years in Indianapolis, a Cincinnati affiliate change sent Miley to
Louisville prior to the start of the 2000 campaign. This will be Miley's second
appearance in the Triple-A All-Star Game, having served as a coach at the
1998 game in Norfolk.
Eric Wedge
- COACH
In his International League debut
last season, Wedge led the Buffalo Bisons to Triple-A Baseball's best record
(91-51) and, for his efforts, captured the I.L.'s Manager of the Year Award.A
former Big League backstop for the Red Sox and Rockies, Wedge landed in Buffalo
after managerial stops in Columbus (A), Kinston (A) and Akron (AA), all in
the Cleveland organization.
Grant Jackson
- PITCHING
COACH
Jackson rejoins Dave Miley in the dugout, having coached alongside the All-Star skipper from 1996-2001 in Indianapolis and Louisville before joining the Baltimore organization last off-season.Throughout his 18-year Major League pitching career, Jackson made an All-Star appearance in 1969 and pitched in three World Series.
John
Young - TRAINER
Young is currently in his 25th year as a professional baseball trainer and is the third member of last season's Governors' Cup Champion staff to join the Triple-A All-Star Game. In addition to his baseball experience, Young was also an assistant trainer for the Philadelphia 76ers in the late 1970s.
