Cub
fanatics are avid at every level.
Daytona -
12.28.01 - The 2000 Florida State League Champions are offering fans a
lifetime season ticket for one-hundred dollars.
Followers of the Daytona Cubs single-a baseball team are being
given a chance to get a lifetime season ticket in the form of a tattoo.
The club
is offering up the General Admission "ducket" as long as the
fan gets a tattoo of the Daytona Cubs logo.
"The
fan can get the tattoo anywhere on their body", says Charlie Subock,
the tattoo artist that is running the ad.
The fan will have to dish out the "hundy" for the "tat",
in return will be awarded a lifetime exemption to Daytona Cub games at
Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
The Daytona
Beach buff will have to show the GM Buck Rogers the tattoo once. The fanatic will then be granted the lifetime season ticket.
"I hope I give out fifteen hundred of them, but in reality
I see twenty-to-twenty-five tickets being handed out, Rogers says.
Daytona Cub
fans Pat Drosten, and "Front Row Joe" have already been inked
with the logo.
The organization
initially came up with a tattoo night promotion.
That night will be May
23rd on the Cub
schedule.
That idea
then blossomed into the lifetime season ticket tattoo. Rogers says "We
are a unique staff, and want to stretch our advertising dollar. Our staff always wants to take things
one step further, there is nothing better than a satisfied fan".
The promotion
has generated large interest. "It
is a great way of advertising among the fans, and no doubt we will take
the national attention", Rogers conveys to MLN.
The
Daytona Cub experience is pure fun.
As a matter of fact GM Buck Rogers guarantees that you will do
just that by the top of the second inning of each game, or he will return
your money.
Faithful Cub Fans from the Wrigley Field to Jackie Robinson Ballpark will
always show their colors.
