Our Best Guess: Major Leaguer 7. Brent Butler
|
When it comes to working hard in the off-season Brent Butler-2/11/78 was the poster boy for the Colorado Springs Skysox. Butler works on his game vigorously in the winter, from the simple mechanics of the game to the weight-room. |
The second baseman was called up by the Rockies last year on July 3rd, preventing him from participating in the 2001triple-A all-star game where he would of started at second base. In a Skysox uniform Brent hit .335 in 272 plate appearances playing in 65 games. Butler drove in 38 runs, and had a on base percentage of .325, and a slugging percentage of .507. In the big dance Butler had 119 plate appearances for the Rockies where he hit .244 in 53 games. Brent went deep once, and drove in 14 for the "Rox". He will start with the major league club this season. (-R.Z.P)
