Pitcher
Sarloos holds an end-of-season roster position with the Houston Astros after breezing through the AA and AAA Zephyrs on the minor league rep of a 10-game winning streak for AA Round Rock.
His lofty 6+ ERA with Houston belies his record with Round Rock and then the Zephyrs, where he was an impressive 4-0 with an 0.79 ERA (3ER/34IP) over five home starts, 6-1 with a 1.82 ERA (10ER/49.1IP) over eight outings on the road.
Impressive statistics on Sarloos include:
Sarloos was allowed personal time to get married in June. The Long Beach native is a grad of the Cal State Fullerton program, where he was a multiple winner of the Big West conference pitcher of the week.
MLN expects him to start with the Zephyrs in 2003, with a possibility that he might find himself in the bullpen of the Astros by mid-year.
