Situated between the suburbs of Los Angeles and the suburbs of San Diego, Lake Elsinore is a recreational lake, an outlet shoppers paradise, and one of the best places to catch a ballgame in the California League.
The Diamond in Lake Elsinore stands alone in a league full of beautiful parks, both old and new. The sheer beauty of this park's exterior and its incredible setting at the foot of the lake and the mountains make it a must-see destination.
“The cream of the crop,” is how a long-time official at another team in Cal League described The Diamond. “It's easily the best ballpark in the league.”
When you enter the park, make sure you do so through the incredible main entryway behind home plate, then look behind you at the gorgeous lake and the Elsinore Mountains.
The Diamond is home to the Lake Elsinore Storm, whose logo of sinister eyes is one of the best marketed pieces of merchandise in all of baseball.
The team is a Padres farm club in the Class-A California League. Josh Barfield, MLN's 2003 Player of the Year, graced the field last year.
Look for many great pitching prospects in the Padres farm system to pass through the Diamond for a little polishing.
Rank 2003: 3
