No. 1 FirstEnergy Stadium, Reading Pennsylvania, Home of the Reading Phillies, AAA Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies- MLN Top 10 (Ten) Ballparks 2005

FirstEnergy Stadium
Reading, PA

The Reading Phillies of the Class AA Eastern League have a track record of success that is unequalled.

In a city with only 81,000 residents, the attendance figures here are nothing short of astonishing.  In 2004, the average crowd was 7,138, the best in the history of the franchise.  In fact, the last time the attendance was under 400,000 for a season was in 1998.

Sometime in May, the Reading Phillies expect to become the first Eastern League franchise to exceed nine million in total (team history) attendance.

The Phillies achieve this by delivering to their fans “a festive, fan-friendly

atmosphere from the time the gates open until the bottom of the ninth inning.”
This includes making the experience affordable, as parking is free and the tickets and concessions are very reasonably priced.

FirstEnergy Stadium has received numerous upgrades in recent years, including a beautiful pool area in right field and a high-resolution video screen in left.  It has the intimacy of some past top ten contenders, like Holman Stadium at Vero Beach, with more creature comforts of a modern ballpark.

FirstEnergy rises from number three in our 2004 survey to No. 1 this year for delivering an exceptional fan experience year after year.

Last Year's Ranking: 3
