Many players don't make the FAB50 list because they are not moving through their farm systems as quickly, even if they are higher-ranked in technical ranking systems. Reasons for this can be:
Injury - A player has a season-sidelining injury;
Parking - A player is too valuable to trade, but there is no ability for them to move upward within the next season, or possibly two. A pitcher is wating for a starting rotation sport to open up; A player in the independent leagues trying to change organizations and taking themselves off the market for a season or more;
Slow Progression - A player has had a particularly bad season, or is being slowed down to the point that other players moving through the farm system are more likely to pass them;
Incomplete Deal - Draft picks who hold out beyond the usual signing dates and are unable to play during the 2005 season but who will have rapid movement once contract matters are settled.
