Boston Red Sox Spring Training 2006 Report
 |
The speedy outielder out of Oregon State was Boston’s top pick last year and hit .317 with 23 stolen bases in his low Class-A season.
He has drawn comparisons to Johnny Damon, mainly because he’s a lefty-hitting center fielder who can run and field. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Ellsbury doesn’t have Damon’s power, but his pure baseball skills have him on target to reach the Red Sox no later than 2008.
