MLN Vote4TheBest 2007: North America's Best Ballparks & Arenas
We opened the voting to you the fans, and you chose well. While one of the palaces of Minor League Baseball still reigns supreme, minor hockey has handed MiLB its hat trick of top places to watch a game and have some fun.

For the last seven years, we’ve been telling you about the best ballparks in North America.  Then a bunch of hockey fans and AFL fans wrote us and said: “Hey! What about us?!”

So this year, we opened up the “Best” feature to include all professional venues in minor and independent baseball, hockey, football and basketball.

We asked you, the most discerning fans in all of sports, to tell us which minor-league facilities you love, not only overall, but for the best venue features, the best food, and the most fun.

These weren’t the only facilities where sports enthusiasts are having major fun at minor-league games, though.  In fact, over 130 different venues received votes in our poll, showing that a good time can be had at minor-league events from coast to coast.

We also asked you what it is that you love about your favorite places to watch professional sports. What makes your ice, or palace of pop a place that you want to go out to? You told us specific things about your favorite places, from the in-ground hot tubs to the 360-degree view walk-around at Isotopes Park, home to the upcoming Triple-A Al Star Fiesta 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Beyond Peanuts & Popcorn

You shared with us a lot of detail about the special things at minor league ballparks, from the swimming pools to the biggest JumboTron in North America to the VIP Harley Davidson parking spaces, but your top feature overall was something you'd never think about thinking about first.

Minor league stadiums and arenas are known for having some of the best and the weirdest food items on the planet. From the Gateway Grizzlies-inspired Krispy Kreme Burger to Nolan Ryan's Tender Aged Beef Steak on a Stick, you told us about a whole lot of weird and wonderful menu items sure to please everyone not on a diet.

Beyond the Game

Minor league fans know how to have a good time. Your clubs serve up a wide variety of entertainment to go along with your favorite sport. So which acts or events were the best? While some of the national acts scored well, it was your own mascot that carried top marks with more than 98% of the fans!

The ECHL and the CHL hockey clubs campaigned hard, as did a number of the better baseball burgs.  Youngstown and Stockton fans let us know they are a force to be reckoned with, but as the votes poured in, the cream in Round Rock, Texas kept rising to the top.
