The Pacific Coast League and International League of Class AAA play 144 game schedules. The Mexican League plays a 100 game schedule. Class AA and Class A full season leagues play a 140 to 142 game season, while Short Season A logs 76, and Rookies run from 50 to 76 games a year. Leagues from Class A up have an all-star game each season. There is usually an inter-league championship at the end of the year, but it often doesn't mean very much, because major league call-ups to an expanded season-end roster often draw away players who put the team into the championships in the first place. For several years, the AAA toyed with a minor league World Series, held in Las Vegas between the International and PCL. Problems moving fans to Vegas on short notice and low local turnout scrubbed the series. Where Do These Leagues Play? Leagues are distributed over the United States, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic. The International, the Eastern, New York-Penn, and Appalachian leagues play in the Eastern half of the United States and Canada, with heaviest concentration along the Eastern Seaboard. The Pacific, California, Northwest, and Arizona leagues play in the Central to Western part of the United States. The Carolina, Southern, Texas, Florida State, and South Atlantic are all based in the Southern United States. The Mexican League and the Mexican Academy are in, you guessed it, Mexico.
