Over The Weekend:

Thirteen different Bulldogs found the scoresheet as Hamilton rolled over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday night, 6-1. Jarret Stoll and Marcel Hossa led the attack with a goal and an assist each, and Eric Fichaud made 26 saves in net. On Sunday, Mike Komisarek notched three assists as Hamilton made it two in a row with a 3-1 win in Philadelphia.

With their winless skid in danger of reaching 13 games, Rochester scored three times in the final 6:03 of play to post a 4-2 win over Cleveland on Friday. Jason Botterill recorded a hat trick and assisted on Norm Milley’s game-winner to give the Amerks their first victory of the season. Two nights later, Denis Hamel’s three-goal, four-point effort boosted Rochester to a 5-2 win over Chicago.

Daniel Tkaczuk scored twice and Rick DiPietro stopped 25 shots as Bridgeport held on for a 2-1 win over Binghamton on Sunday evening. Tkaczuk, the sixth overall pick in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, was loaned to the Sound Tigers by St. Louis on Wednesday, and finished the weekend with four points in four games. The win allowed Bridgeport to move back into a tie with Hartford atop the East Division.

Portland ended Manchester’s 10-game unbeaten streak with a 4-0 win on Sunday. Sebastien Charpentier made 35 saves for his second shutout in as many AHL appearances, while the Pirates struck for four goals on just 20 shots against the Monarchs’ Cristobal Huet. Charpentier now has a 1.75 GAA and a .947 save percentage in five games with Portland this season.
