Aeros' Delay
Bulldogs exploit Houston's failure to take flight.
06.05.03 - Houston owned the third period in game three of the 2003 Calder Cup Finals.
The Aeros scored two goals on 16 shots, while holding their opponents scoreless.
Unfortunately for Houston, the Hamilton Bulldogs had already put up 4 goals in the first two periods and held on for a 4-2 victory.
With the win, the Bulldogs take a two games to one lead in the best-of-seven series.
Hamilton lit the lamp three times in the first, on goals from Jason Ward, Bill Lindsay and Jozef Balej.
Tony Salmelainen notched the only goal of the second period and the Bulldogs never looked back.
Although Houston finally woke up in the third, getting goals from Sylvain Cloutier and Travis Roche, it was too little too late.
In goal Bulldogs' goaltender Ty Conklin stopped 33 of the 35 shots, while Johan Holmqvist made 27 saves for the Aeros.
The two teams will square off again for Game 4, Friday night in Houston.
