One Win
Away
Holding a 3-1 series lead, the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies are looking
to close out the 2003 ECHL Kelly Cup Finals.
Atlantic City, NJ -- Two nights after a crushing loss, the Atlantic City
Boardwalk Bullies rebounded in gritty fashion to defeat the Columbia Inferno,
3-1, in Game 4 of the East Coast Hockey League championship finals and moved
within one win of capturing the league's Kelly Cup.
The Bullies own a commanding
three-games-to-one lead in the best-of-seven
series, and will have a golden opportunity to claim the coveted crown on
Wednesday night at Boardwalk Hall.
Bullies forward Kevin
Colley supplied the Bullies' offense early, scoring a
pair of goals in the first period, giving him four goals in the last two
games.
Colley's first came
on a slapshot off a two-on-one rush, and his
second, less than three minutes later, resulted from a tape-to-tape pass
from
defenseman Ian Walterson.
Hazlet's Jim Henkel,
outstanding in killing penalties all night, salted the
victory with an empty-net tally in the final minute, his third of the
playoffs.
Goalie Scott Stirling,
who allowed three third-period goals in the Game 3
loss, enjoyed a strong evening, stopping 23 shots. Only Paul Cabana's power-
play tip-in late in the second period eluded Stirling.
