Gordon's Gators
The Louisiana IceGators name Todd Gordon the fourth head coach in team history.

07.15.04 - Todd Gordon will soon be taking over the reigns of the ECHL's Louisiana IceGators and has been named the Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations for the 2004-05 season.

Gordon will fill the void left after Dave Farrish, who held the same title, announced his resignation on July 6.

"We are very excited to have Todd Gordon here with the IceGators," said Managing Partner John Lingo. "He will keep the owners informed on all aspects of hockey operations. As a family man, he has great character and personality, which will make him a favorite of our fans as soon as they get a chance to meet him."

Gordon brings six years of coaching experience to the Gators, having previously coached in the ECHL for Toledo and Pensacola.

In three seasons with Pensacola, Gordon was 133-122-31 and led the Ice Pilots to the Kelly Cup Playoffs all three years. In Gordon's inaugural season in 2001-02 Pensacola set team records for for wins (38) and home wins (23) while tying the team record for most points (82).

Todd was head coach of Fayetteville in the Central Hockey League in 2000-01, going 31-30-9 and advancing to the playoffs. He had his first head-coaching job in 1998-99 with San Antonio of the CHL, going 37-26-7 and advancing to the playoffs, and in 1999-2000, he coached Toledo of the ECHL to a 22-41-7 record.

Prior to becoming a head coach, Gordon was an assistant coach with Carolina in the American Hockey League and San Antonio in the International Hockey League. Gordon played three professional seasons with the Greensboro Monarchs in the ECHL from 1991-94 following a four-year career at the University of Alberta.

"It is a great honor for me to join an organization with such a great tradition," said Gordon. "The ownership of the team has impressed me with their honesty and sincerity. I am looking forward to working with them and becoming a part of this great community."
