The Illustrators & Artists of MLN Sports

Ken Jones for MLN Ken JONES

Freelance Illustrator

We tasked gifted Tom's River, New Jersey artist Ken Jones with a MAJOR mission: To revive, single-handedly, the dead art of sports illustration (That's the I in SI, folks.). Along with the writer, and the photographer, the Illustrator captured the passion for the players, and usually unearthed a tidbit or two about their personality or their game.

He has done portraits for celebrities such as John Stearns, former all star catcher of the New York Mets. His drawing of Ernie Banks ("Mr. Cub") was featured on the cover of the July 8, 2005 edition of the Sports Collectors Digest.

A portrait artist since his high school days Ken was a graphic designer in New York City before venturing out to start his own illustration & graphic design business. He graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree while also obtaining an Associates in Arts degree from Ocean County College and a Visual Communications Certification at Gibbs in Piscataway, New Jersey.
